For the first time in 5 years, Kelly and I were able to attend the Horror Writers Association’s annual convention, StokerCon.
This year it was held in Denver, Colorado. As always, there were tons of horror-related workshops and panels to check out. Kelly’s favorite was a workshop by Sumiko Saulson on creating horror graphic novels. I got to be part of a panel about creating and publishing anthologies (collections of short stories and poetry by multiple authors, like the ones the feature my stories) and had a ton of fun meeting other horror writers, chatting with publishers, and pigging out on the amazing food on Denver’s 16th Street mall.
The most exciting thing for me this year was pitching my newest novel to three agents there. One of them was interested enough to ask me to submit a partial manuscript. Cross your fingers for me!
I documented the trip on my TikTok:
Next year’s StokerCon will be in Pittsburgh, PA. Be sure to check it out if you write and/or love horror!
